How to start with "Roadbook Riding"?

What is "Roadbook Riding"?
A roadbook is a graphical representation of the route to navigate across any type of terrain. It was usually presented to a rider as a roll of paper for motorcycle riders.
The roadbook consists of tulip diagrams, (sometimes referred to as “ball and arrow”) at each direction change on the roadbook. The rider should be seeing the track, road or terrain as indicated on the roadbook and the direction to take at the distance marker.
Some key features will be noted on the roadbook to aid navigation along with potential dangers. Participants would be instructed to religiously follow the kilometers on the left of the page to ensure that they were at the correct point for a direction change, for which an accurate trip / odometer should be used.
What equipment is needed ?
- something to represent your roadbook
- something to scroll your roadbook
- a device to measure distance
- a way to adjust the measured distance
- PATIENCE
- it's fun, really not that difficult as most people would think.
- Learn to navigate, start from zero, and start with the right mindset.
- Don't try to go fast at first. Most riders loose more time making navigation mistakes than they gain time by going fast.
